How to spot a fake ESA letter
Yes, there is such a thing as fake ESA letters. And, it is pretty common. Unfortunately.
There are many websites on the internet that sell fake ESA letters in order to trick their customers and gain money from them. These scammers exist in every field but they are particularly vicious here.
This is because most people do not have enough. Information about ESAs or information about how to get an esa letter. This information is highly critical because if you don’t know the basics, then you will be scammed.
This is exactly why I am here.

So, if the website that is offering you a letter does not provide the contact of the healthcare professional, then they are fake.
Sign #2: The Letterhead
In case you have already gotten your letter, you need to have a look at its letterhead.
As a matter of fact, only a fully licensed medical healthcare professional can give you your letter. Whether you want an emotional support dog letter or travel is irrelevant here. If you want a letter, you need a professional.
If any of this information is missing then you are in trouble.
Sign #3: Details About the Animal
That is, your ESA.
Your letter must not just say that you have an ESA. It must also mention which ESA you have.
Most letters include information like the type of animal that you have, its breed, size, weight, name etc.
With these details, your animal can become a certified ESA. So, if you have an ESA dog, then its name and other useful information will be mentioned in your letter.
Sign #4: Valid Dates
These types of letters are only valid for 1 year. EXACTLY. One year from the date of issuance.
So, the date of issuance and the expiration date of your letter must be mentioned on the letter itself. And they should be one year apart.
If either of the dates are not mentioned or if they are more or less than one year apart then know that something is not quite right.
Sign #5: Payment Page
The payment page of the website is the first thing that you should check.
Look at the URL or web address of the website in question. It should begin with “https”. Including the “s”.You can ask your vet about can dogs eat cheese.
This “s” stands for “secure” and any web address that does not include this “s” belongs to a website that is not secure. This means that this website can steal your data.
And also that its payment page can steal your money.
Sign #6: ESA “Registration”
There is no such thing as an ESA registration.
If you find a website that offers to register your ESA then they are lying to you. ESAs are not registered. ESAs are simply animals who become an ESA when you get your letter for the said ESA.
So, before you give up your money for fake ESA letters, make sure that you are getting the letter and are not being scammed.
Sign #7: Instant Turnout
There are many websites that will produce a fake letter and give it to you on an immediate basis.
They are fake. And those letters are fake too.
You cannot get an ESA letter on an urgent basis. To get this letter you need to fill a form, your website needs to get in touch with a licensed therapist., this therapist needs to get in touch with you and only then you MIGHT get the letter.
Sign #8: Cheap Rates
Let's say that this amazing website is offering up cheap ESA letters to you.

ESA letters do not come cheap. I am not saying that they are super expensive but they are not cheap either. Most legit websites try to offer fair prices but you are not getting this letter for $10.
Sign #9: Lack of Customer Support
If a website is selling you a letter like this, they are bound to have customer support.
All legit and authentic websites have people whose job is to answer your questions and help you a little bit. If the website has customer support then well and good. If not, then you need to beware.
Because it’s likely to be a scam. After all, even some fake websites have customer support.
